Uta Hagen Technique – 8 Week

Payment plans available

During the Monday night course we will use the Uta Hagen teaching methods to tackle scenes and monologues. Together we will find what is important to make a scene believable for you and thrilling to watch by others. Subsequently, we will work to discover how to be you in the given circumstances of every scene you perform. The techniques are important for the stage, screen and in self-tests.
The course will cover the five exercises in Uta Hagen’s book – A Challenge for the Actor. We will then apply these techniques to scene work.
Course Structure:
Week 1 – Introduction to the exercises
Week 2 – Destination
Week 3 – Changes in self (Part 1) and Fourth Side
Week 4 – Moment to Moment
Week 5 – Summary and Script Analysis
Week 6 – Monologue/Script Analysis
Week 7 – Monologue Work
Week 8 – Monologue Work
These classes are for dedicated students of acting to safely and effectively grow their craft. My influences are Stanislavski, Uta Hagen, Larry Moss, Ivana Chubbuck, Eric Morris and Meisner. I love to help actors create rich, dramatic and truthful work.

This is the same course I taught at QUT to the Bachelor of Fine Arts Acting Students for four years, including Emily Weir, Mitchell Burke and Sisi Stringer.
